Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and may close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house by using a combined gross domestic income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and check here R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the right Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the website last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
